Rafi oversees curriculum design and also manages the Israel side of the organization. Prior to joining Mekorot, Rafi was the Assistant Head of School for Judaic Studies at Kohelet Yeshiva High School Kohelet, where he was also Israel Advisor, taught Gemara and Tanach, and received the Distinguished Educators’ Award in 2010. Rabbi Eis received semicha (rabbinic ordination) from Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), and an M.S. in Jewish Education from YU's Azrieli School of Jewish Education.
Aryeh is currently the Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder of Mekorot. Prior to becoming one of the leaders in Jewish education and innovation, Aryeh served as regional director of the NY NCSY for seven years while also serving in a variety of rabbinic roles on Long Island. As a graduate of Yeshiva University and having achieved Rabbinic ordination from RIETS, Aryeh has been deeply involved with education and teens for the past decade. Known primarily for his entrepreneurial spirit Aryeh is often found outside of the box challenging what was done and innovating what should be done. Aryeh founded Aleph Beta Academy, the JUMP Leadership initiative, Jerusalem Ambassadorsas well as Friday Night Lights – all international ongoing successful programs.
Les is using his background as an entrepreneur, educator, and communal leader to carry out the Mekorot vision. Dr. Spero has a Doctorate from Harvard Business School and has founded and ran successful start-ups for the past 4 decades.
An experienced educational leader and educational entrepreneur, Rabbi Elchanan Jay Weinbach is the Executive Chairman of Mekorot. He has previously served as Head of School at Kohelet Yeshiva High School and the Shalhevet School, and Principal of JEC and of Hillel Yeshiva High School in Deal, New Jersey. He has semikha and a Masters Degree in secondary education from Yeshiva University and has also served as a Congregrational Rabbi.
Jonathan Seligsohn, born in the digital age, is a self-taught techie. Although he majored in Mathematics at Yeshiva College, he yearned to learn more about Computer Science. Through online tutorials and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) he has gradually educated himself in all things web programming. He also has a growing interest in graphic design and video editing. Previously, he was an "iPad teacher leader" and technology specialist at Kohelet Yeshiva High School, responsible for a school-wide implementation of a one-to-one iPad program. A life-long learner, he plans to always be on top of the latest technologies.
Asher received both his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BS) and his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. Prior to his work in Mekorot he worked as a Judaic Studies teacher in Kohelet Yeshiva High School. Before coming to the U.S from Israel he worked for a small Israeli start-up company, developing Mobile Apps.
